oranje school frontstreet st maarten, great for parents who work in Philipsburg
The Oranje School, is one of St Maarten's oldest schools, also known as a Public or Government school. The language of education is Dutch, but English is spoken and used widely. It is a convenient location for parents who work in the Philipsburg district. Many visitors are delighted when walking through Frontstreet to see the Oranje School students, in their bright orange, yellow and plaid uniforms. Many parents also schedule their lunch breaks around 'Pauze' or recess so that they can watch their kids plays as they enjoy their mid afternoon meal. Photos of the students in the playground are not allowed, but don't worry about that they'll let you know in English and Dutch "No pictures please". I got permission to take these pictures, and were greatful at the friendliness of the students and staff. Of course they were happy, school was over.
