SR BORGIA SCHOOL....WHO RUNS THIS GOVERNMENT? WE DO!

I was waiting for the Ministers during the latest fall of the government, and these Sr Borgia students just happened to be waiting for the bus, so I asked them...."Who runs this government?" Their reply? "We do!"
And they will give them five to ten more years they'll be voting. Most politicians choose not to understand the youth of St Maarten. By chance Minister of Health Cornelius de Weever was walking by, and photobombed the pix.

Claire Elshot president of WITU not happy with the way SXM teachers are being treated

WITU president Claire Elshot is concerned about the non-renewal of the contracts of several teachers of several schools.
She said that four of the contracts had not been renewed becasue the teachers were on sick leave. Other were not renewed due to a rancge of other issues. The exact number of teachers whose contracts were not renewed could not be ascertained. She noted that there were a number of teachers whose status was in limbo, as they had not been told that they were being moved to different positions for the new academic year, but had not been given any information for the new assignments.
She continued that she was saddened by the issues that the teachers were facing, because they had worked hard during the years, especially those left with the challenge of finding their jobs in jeopardy or uncertain.

FLASH THIS! STM BAND BREAKS THE MPC REHEARSAL VIDEO

oranje school frontstreet st maarten, great for parents who work in Philipsburg

The Oranje School, is one of St Maarten's oldest schools, also known as a Public or Government school. The language of education is Dutch, but English is spoken and used widely. It is a convenient location for parents who work in the Philipsburg district. Many visitors are delighted when walking through Frontstreet to see the Oranje School students, in their bright orange, yellow and plaid uniforms. Many parents also schedule their lunch breaks around 'Pauze' or recess so that they can watch their kids plays as they enjoy their mid afternoon meal. Photos of the students in the playground are not allowed, but don't worry about that they'll let you know in English and Dutch "No pictures please". I got permission to take these pictures, and were greatful at the friendliness of the students and staff. Of course they were happy, school was over.
